Once upon a Halloween there was a blue fairy and a west coast rapper who met at the BYU Wilkinson center and fell in serious infatuation, which soon developed into love. Ten years later, they are a Jedi and "Unitarda" and have created three skeletal offspring. (See below).

We donned our outfits. We went trick or treating. We acquired candy. It rained. We still had fun. I love this holiday!!
The boys decided to go "Star Wars" theme. Jared was Anakin, Sam was Luke and Eli was Yoda. I put Jared's outfit together out of a monk's robe, an old curtain and bed sheet. It's getting a little scary how crafty I have become lately. (Out of pure necessity only....there's a recession, you know.)
Yoda a little drugged up on sugar.
The girls kind of had their own agenda... Mia was tinker bell. What a pretty fairy! (She loved these fake eyelashes. Had to give the "special occasion only" lecture.)
As for me, I found this unitard outfit at Goodwill and pretty much grabbed it off the rack and did the special dance that is reserved only for truly exciting shopping finds. You never know when you'll need a good sparkly, skin tight, glittery unitard outfit. I also found the cape and of course they were screaming to be put together. It was a no brainer-- like peanut butter and jelly or hot chocolate and marshmallows. Tah-dah.
The family post trick or treating. We stopped by our friends house and they gave us apple cider donuts because we definitely didn't have enough sugar yet. We were all a little soggy by this point but still on a sugar high!
The next pic is of the kiddos in action trick or treating. Hey Trav, check out all the orbs in this picture. It was orb heaven! (anyone wondering what the heck I am talking out go here to become a believer.)
Lastly, here's a picture of our family in the middle of the woods on a random rock wall. There's some amazing fall colors out the window these days. If only that didn't mean winter was around the corner...
Happy Halloween and prayers for at least another month of clear skies and decent weather before the snow and cold take over and I get seasonally depressed which leads to baking and eating and never leaving the abode.

I think your children must be related to me. My friend called me a bag of bones when I was young.
I was "Unitarda" for Halloween too! No Way!!!
So cute! You know I'm all for craftiness, recession or no. Bring on the scissors and sewing machine, whenever possible!
I love your costume! You are so clever and I smiled to myself as I imagined your good will dance! Miss you!
So 'orb' is another word for, raindrop?
And-I love that you made their costumes out of a bed sheet and curtain. That's what Halloween is all about!
happy halloween! great costumes! I've let myself get out of the dressing up mode- such a shame. Jeremy and I just grabbed some random clean room bunny suits from the basement left by who-knows. But I love the chance to dress up the kids. We had an awesome barn party!
You rocked that UNITART-o costume, girl. It must be that hard body of yours, huh???
Congrats on best costume of all!
loved it. love you.
Fun nite, wasnt' it!!

I still love reading your creative writing. Brings me back to freshman year. Loved the Jedi theme. Two Years ago, Trenton was yoda, Justin was Anakin and I was Senator Amadalah. We still think alike after all these years. Your Unitard proves it too. The cape and uni are like PB & J. Perfect match. And you pulled it off so well. It wouldn't be as cool without your hair you realize. Glad you had a great holiday. Oh yeah and it rains almost every Halloween here, so did you feel like you were in Oregon?
