This was our first "kids only" birthday party- and it was a great success. It was a lot less stressful than entertaining adults. First we played pin the pirate on the treasure map. They had to get the pirate that they colored as close to the "X" as possible.
Then we outfitted the kiddos with hats and swords for a treasure hunt! Do they look excited? Nah.

A random homeless man came in off the street to help with the treasure hunt.

The kids favorite clue was "If your smart you'll head upstairs... the next clue's hiding in Sam's underwears." They made it around the house and were thrilled with their booty at the end of the hunt. They girls got jewelry and candy, the boys got guns and pirate stuff. (I heart the dollar store).

Next we had cake and ice cream. Check out the awesome cakes... my friend Lillian is the best.

Watch out! Captain Dillon is a crack shot.
This picture cracks me up... these two look like their hitting the Kool-aid a little too hard.
Captain Sam no-beard had a great time at his party. Happy 5th buddy!

looks so fun! Not that this should be the first comment ;) but that's a big clock on the wall! And Jared still has to run to the metro stop?
Did Sam really not recognize the homeless man? What a fun time and plenty of entertainment for you as well I am sure! And lots of laughs for all of us reading as usual.
Wow lys, you are brave - and SO creative! It looks like the kids had a blast. I heart dollar stores too ;). Oh how I miss them! Happy 5th Birthday Sam! I can't believe he's 5!
