You know, I don't ever think I mentioned that Eli turned one about a month ago. Yup, a month ago exactly. Well, that's what you get little guy for being the 3rd child. Gypped, that's what. See, I was the third child too, so I know how it goes. Poor little guy never got to blow a candle out on his birthday. (Not that they ever blow them out anyway, just try and grab the flame, but you know- just one of those milestone things.) We're still planning on doing that sometime... hopefully before he's 2. He did get to have a little cupcake on his birthday. I think I even have a picture of him eating it on my camera phone somewhere ( I found it! Miracle! Look above to see a miracle). Happy Birthday buddy!! He hasn't started walking yet, but he sure is a fast crawler. And a good climber. I have to keep my eyes on that kid constantly. I have saved his life at least 13 times. Maybe 14. But who's counting.
He's finally eating again. That little virus he had was a doozy! He wouldn't eat anything besides yogurt for 9 days! He finally started eating real food today. The pasta he was eating tonight disappeared off his plate 3 times-- I was SO happy.

He's such a funny kid- with such a great personality. He's very interested in everything going on around him- you can see it in his eyes. People and animals especially. Oh, and digital displays. Loves lit up numbers. Points and makes a "sssssss" noise every time he sees numbers. Especially loves dogs. Some friends of ours have a great big black lab named Jet, and I think Eli thinks they are brothers. He can say some words too... mama, dada, uh-oh (that's a new one! uses it in context too! so smart!!) dog (dah), ball (bah), and more (MAAAAH!).
Eli, thank you for being in our family! You are so special to us. You light up every room you enter with those big, blue eyes. Please don't turn into a nightmare when you start to walk. Please stay sweet and wonderful forever. Don't ever change! Please!! I beg of you!!
So for the last couple months Mia has been praying every night to "bless Eli that he will have chunky legs forever." There is an alternative prayer she says for him as well. It goes, "bless Eli that he'll be doctor Diaper forever". Just as long as she doesn't use the chunky legs prayer on me.
Speaking of Mia, here's a nice picture I took of her the other day. She was threatening me with a set of nail clippers. I was a little scared.
So here's a few pictures of Eli with his birthday presents lest you believe I am a complete slacker of a mother.
Happy Birthday Eli!!

I think I might have saved his life at least once while I was there.
Glad to hear that you had similar problems with eating when he was sick. Baby bear is sick, and is acting simlar. I bought several baby foods at the store today thinking maybe he's just bored and that's why he won't eat. Happy Birthday to our twin cousin!
What a precious and super cute little one year old. Happy Belated, Eli!
mia is a little intimidating in that picture :) Eli is a cutie..blonde version of sam.
Happy Late Birthday little sweet Eli. Love ya, Grandma B
