*farewell to spooky days*

Well, Halloween is over. (sniff) I love Halloween. It's my favorite Holiday. You know why? Because my fairytale started on October 31, 1999. I was at the BYU Halloween Carnival and spotted my friend Jason talking to a most attractive west coast rapper. If I recall correctly, he was wearing some Adidas warm-ups, 5 watches, a couple chains around his neck, and a poofy blonde afro. (I am always attracted to people with hair larger than mine.) It was love at first sight. So I went up to Jason to say hi (with alterior motives of course) and he introduced me to old companion, Jared. I was a blue fairy, all glittery with false eyelashes, but Jared commented later that what really caught his attention was my supersternal notch and my genuine smile. Every year I relive our meeting and smile. I think Jared has worn a variation of the afro costume every year since then.

Here a picture of Sam at his Kindergarten Halloween parade as a pterodactyl:

Mia and Sam inside his classroom after the parade.

And a picture of the offspring sporting their outfits... (don't fairies and rappers make cute little kids?)

A "skeleton bat", tiger cub, and witch

A picture of the kids trick or treating. I love the North East because people go ALL OUT on decorating their houses... check out the house in the background of this picture-- they put their shutters all crooked to make the house look super spooky! Love it!

Happy Halloween!!

Oh, and I know you are all dying to know what Jared and I were for Halloween this year. I was an old lady (complete with bathrobe, granny doo and crochet hook) and Jared was... a 70's afro king. Sorry, we didn't get a pic! We were so busy snapping photos of the little ones we forgot how stupid we looked ourselves.

How do people get the energy to decorate like that? Or is is just keeping up with the Jones?

I have to say, that house was pretty awesome. I thought our porch was pretty spooky...for an apartment walk up. ;)
Did you know Jermey and mine's first date was on halloween? We met twice before then, so kind of different I guess. :)

I still can't believe that it's been 9 years since that Halloween. I didn't have any life changing experiences that night, but we sure had a good time! Your kids are cute!

Ok - I wanted to comment on your back off post.... LOVED it! We had a similar vote here and it was amazing to see the hand of the Lord!

We feel we can partly thank Obama for passing it in our state as well as Cali - he is the one who got at the Latin/Black voters out, who are traditionaly pro marriage! Yay! That is something I bet he didn't see coming...;)
