*beautiful*

I am hosting a campaign to bring big hair back in style (see blog from May 1st) and I have called for support from anyone tired of spending hours each day trying to tame their fro and willing to let it run wild. All supporters of my campaign are welcome to email pictures to alyssabarlow@gmail.com. People who think big is beautiful will be showcased right here.

My first big hair supporter is my Auntie Melanie from Saint George, UT. She is family, thus a carrier of the big hair gene, so she is right on board with the whole campaign. She even sent a before and after picture. Thank you Melanie!

Before... AFTER!
Commentary: See how sad and restricted her hair is in the first picture? You can tell that in that wild habitat her hair is just dying to fly free. And the second picture... all I can say is happy hair! Gorgeous!

Another Supporter! May 11, 2007
My next supporter comes all the way from... next door! Alysia has been admiring my new volumptuous do now for 11 days and has decided to join my parade and take it all the way back to Utah with her when she moves in two weeks. Although in reality it won't be much of a problem getting supporters there seeing as the Liahona hairdo ("great ball of curious workmanship") has been in style pretty much since Brother Brigham entered the Salt Lake Valley.

Picture analysis: (right) See how she used to "cover-up" her big hair potential by strapping it tightly to her head? Wrong choice my friend.

See her transformation below! I would liken it to a butterfly emerging from a cocoon...

I would really love the pictures to keep pouring in! Thanks for all those who have showed so much support!

Alyssa,

You crack me up! Let's also get on the campaign for a syndicated Big Hair column in the New York Times! Are you guys still heading to NYC?

Love you,

Sarah

Alyssa, you've got to stop this campaign!! What about the innocent women who were born with thin flat hair? Do you know how much work it is to get any body in my hair?? Just when I think I have the tiniest bit of body, I walk out of the bathroom and my hair flattens!!! It's much easier and more effective for you to flaten your hair than it is for me to add body to my hair.

I have to agree with Lisa and maybe we will start a thin and flat hair campaign. Doesn't big hair make you look skinnier anyways. I would love to have a little body in my do.

I wanted to let you know in Texas a lot of women go for the big hair look - I noticed some last night at the Astros game and wished I had my camera to show our support!
