Happy Birthday Baby Girl...
Mia just had her 3rd birthday yesterday. Looking at the pictures from last year makes her seem so grown up this year. Her present to me this year was to decide she is ready to use the real toilet instead of soiling herself and letting me clean it off her. It was a great gift... almost made childbirth worth it. Since this accomplishment she's often made the comment "I am a big girl now." To which her older brother replies... "Just because you decided to go potty doesn't magically turn you into a big girl." Well, it seems like magic to me- just yesterday I held this tiny newborn and now I turn around and she is magically a big girl.

Here's some of the facets of my little diamond...
*she is very interested in knowing people's names and is always asking me questions like "What's Kate's mom's name again?"*she wants either 500 hair things in her hair at a time (barrettes, hair ties, clips, headbands... you name it) or nothing at all. She will pull out pigtails without fail about 10 minutes after I do her hair.
*there is nothing better in the world than the look on her face when I can tell she feels "pretty"
*loves to dress up and favorite characters to portray are Lois Lane, Super girl, or princesses.
*sam and Mia love to play "games" together with their "friends forever" (stuffed animals) "Let's go play a game Mia."
*she loves the frosting, but not the cake.
*she'll eat many things most kids would turn up their nose at... including: raw bell peppers, avocado, greek olives, onions, cherry tomatoes, celery... you name it. But she's not big into carbs-- crackers, bread, etc.
*her potty training treat is Belgian chocolate chips. What a high maintenance little thing!
*she loves dressing up her Barbies, but especially loves the shoes.
*she's not a big fan of being outdoors when it's cold.
*she is VERY particular about what she wears and picks out her outfit most days. There are some very cute (in my opinion) outfits in her drawers wasting away because they are not pretty enough.
*her favorite color right now is blue- a recent change from pink.
*she can't fall asleep with out her pink "blankie" that's fuzzy on one side and satin on the other. She prefers it when the satin is "cold" and will take it outside to make it so.
*her best friend is her brother, Sam.
*she is very smart and knows almost all of her letters and numbers. She can even write a few and practices a lot to keep up with Sam.
*She has this really quirky silly personality and is very social. She's much more comfortable in strange situations than her older brother.
*She can change from Angel to Demon in 3.5 seconds flat.
*She's loves to give mommy and daddy a "swiss kiss" before bedtime... a peck on the right cheek, left cheek and right cheek.

We had a family party on the 17th for her real birthday. We had mac and cheese and baby broccoli for dinner- by request of the birthday girl of course. Then she got to open presents. She was thrilled with the Barbie and Barbie Car she got from the family. Sam got her some Barbie outfits which included shoes and purses. That was a big hit too.

Happy Birthday Baby girl. Your family loves you very much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mia Bia!! We miss you tons!!
What a beautiful girl! I am so glad that you did this post, I feel like I got to get a glimpse into the life of Mia!
How sweet. I am glad to see someone else calls their 2-3 year old "baby girl". Michael tells me it sounds weird when it comes out of my mouth, but that's what she is! Happy Birthday Mia!
I can't believe the time has flown like that. She definitely is a beauty!
Looks like an awesome party. You even got to use your cupcake stand. We were watching Nanny McPhee the other day and remembering that the baby in it looked just like Mia at the time.(sigh)
What an adorable little girl you have. Sounds like a dream 3rd birthday!
Aahh! Mia! Holy moly- she's three! What a sweetie. Kiss her cute little face for me. Love you Mia!
Happy Birthday Mia! So a funny coincidence...Halle likes her blankets cold too, how strange.
