*home sweet*

We finally made it to our end destination... Connecticut, our new home. Me and the kids had been travelling since the 24th of August so we are glad to FINALLY settle down. My kids are still confused. Just today I bought Sam a new toy that he was pretty excited about and he says to me as I am packing it in the car... "So, does this toy get packed on the moving truck or in a suitcase on our next trip?" I say, "there are no more trips, Sam. We are home." He says, "No Mom, when we move again, which one does it get packed on- the moving truck or in the suitcase?" Anyway, this conversation went on way longer than it should have- and pretty much we have turned our children into gypsies.
Anyway, people have been extremely friendly- especially a family named the Hunters. Jared works with Dave and they helped him out a lot during the month that he was a bachelor and made sure that he didn't survive solely on blocks of cheese and cereal. Now that I am here with the kids his wife Kate has been really great and invited us to lots of the goings on around here to get to know people. We went to a huge Halloween bash last night and went trick or treating with a huge bunch of kids. They really do it up out here-- haunted houses, blow up spiders, webs, skeletons escaping their graves... the works. There were mobs of kids out trick or treating. It was like nothing I have ever seen in my life. Hopefully all the houses around here bought the 500 lb bag of candy at costco or they probably ran out pretty fast. It's been fun to meet so many new great families. I can tell we're really going to like it here.
Oh and I love my house. Jared did an awesome job picking it out for us. It's a duplex that was probably built in the 30's or 40's, but has been recently updated. It's on four floors-- unfinished basement with huge storage space/washer dryer-- 1st floor with kitchen, 1/2 bath, living and dining room-- 2nd floor with full bath and 3 bedrooms-- and the finished attic, which has huge playroom potential and a small bedroom/office (and pepto pink walls which I hope to remedy with permission of the owner). I'll get some pictures when (if) I finally get all the boxes unpacked. This place is a huge mess. It's a nightmare. Ok, not thinking about it again until tomorrow.
We also found a car-- a high end 98 Volvo wagon that seats 7 passengers. The kids love the seats that are in the very back and face the back window of the car. It's in good condition and we got a killer deal on it. It feels good not to have a car payment too!

So that's pretty much it! I'll post some pictures of the house and kids when I get a chance. And if anyone was wondering... we found out we're having a BOY in March. Someone's got to carry on the Barlow name besides Sam!

Love to all!

Now that you're in Connecticut, you can always visit what Al calls the "Paris of New England" - New Haven. Seriously. If you want really good Ethiopian food or AMAZING pizza, you need to go there. OK. I need to stop talking about food because I'm getting hungry...
