We had a great Turkey day because we got a visit from one of my favorite Turkeys! My little bro Brendon and his wife Danelle and the cute little 2 month old Kent came to spend the holiday with us. We had a little East coast celebration while the rest of our fam got together on the west coast. We partied hard for four days straight. No one knows how to party like me and "the Donksta" (private pet name I have for Brendon, you'd never understand because I am not sure I understand). This was my maiden voyage on making the turkey dinner and I did a great job. Everyone kept asking If I'd locked up Martha Stewart in the kitchen and I had to assure them that no, I had NOT in fact locked up Martha Stewart in the kitchen, but I was the actual cook of all the sumptuous food on the table. I can go on and on about how they raved about my cooking, but I won't because it wouldn't be very humble to talk about how delicious and juicy the turkey ended up, or how awesome all the other food tasted. So I'll leave it all to your imagination.

The reality was that this being my first turkey I was a little grossed out with the turkey carcass and wanted to touch it as little as possible. So I rinsed it, like it said to do on the turkey 101 website and then I picked it up to put it in the fail proof turkey bag and the neck jumped out at me! I was very surprised. If you were wondering, the "giblets" don't taint the final product if you accidentally forget to take them out of the bird. It tasted like turkey.
Here's our crew all ready to dig in. Soon after this picture Jared attacked the turkey teeth first and we had to physically restrain him so we could cut it up and eat like civil people.

I know you are all dying to see how cute Sam was in his little Thanksgiving program that the Kindergarteners did at school. He was a pilgrim. He worked very hard to learn 4 songs: Turkey Dinner, Albuquerque Turkey, This land is your land, and his school song. He was very proud of the fact that he could sing along with the piano. (I mentioned that he does that every week in church, but he didn't seem to think that was the same thing. Oh well.)
After the show they had a little feast and Mia begged some food off of them and joined in.
Eli decided to pass on some of the abuse that he's been receiving from siblings since day 3 (day one and two in the hospital = safe zone). He gave Kent a little tough love while we were trying to get some pics of them together. They have the same Swiss binkies and we thought it was pretty cute.

Here's a picture of Kent being a cutie pie. He says for me to say "Hi grandma P. I can't wait to see you at Christmas time!"
Stay tuned for my upcoming post-thanksgiving shopping/visit to the city post. It is very exciting, but I want you to be in suspense because I am really tired and need to go to bed. But don't forget to check back in the next few days because I am telling you-- it's worth it. It really is.
