Christmas 2007

We decided to give the frequent flyer miles some time off and have Christmas at home this year- and I am really glad we did. It was so fun to not have any commitments and hang out together at home playing with our new goodies. The kids are at the PERFECT age for Christmas. I was really scared when we were setting everything up that one of the kids would wake up and catch us! It was nerve-racking to think that the whole future of my children's gullibility was on our shoulders this year. So you can imagine my shock when I walk upstairs to go to bed at 1 am and the bathroom light is on and Sam is sitting up in his bed. Uh-oh, what did he see? I played it cool and went to talk to him. Turns out he was contemplating "tricking Santa, but that wouldn't be very nice, especially on Christmas Eve. " I wholeheartedly agreed. (Phew, didn't see anything, but that was close!)

A family tradition in our house is getting new pajamas. The kids were so cute in them. Cute enough to eat like a juicy sugar plum.

So we just opened presents all morning, ate leftover ham for lunch and managed to change out of our pajamas around 2 pm to go out to a movie... "Enchanted". It was a great family choice- we all loved it. Mia didn't like when everyone laughed at the princess for doing fairly normal princess stuff. I can see how from her perspective it wouldn't be that funny. I loved the part where she made her own clothes out of their curtains and called all the city creatures to clean up the apartment... hilarious.

We had a magical day and hope you all did too. Now on to Barlow Birthday season... starts Jan 17th ends when the baby is born....

i love to hear about your christmas! there is no better way to say it than that your kids are at the perfect age. My parents always tell us that about Christmas 1985. Have fun with birthday season - that baby is on his way!

The cool thing about the framed thing is the lady hand letters the whole thing. I forgot they bought that until now. The smilebox video was cute!
